  1. Hi,

I recently purchased a Groma Humber portable. I am trying to locate replacements ribbons that will fit this machine. Can you help me? Either on line or Toronto locations would be helpful.

    Thank you.

  2. Hi Nick I have been to your store you fixed my ribbon for free. I played a bit stupid like I know nothing. I came in with the old Underwood Five. What you dont know is I overhauled that machine and have fixed some since and before, and getting better daily. thought I would see if I could glean any knowledge from you.just seems a waste not to teach someone some of your old tricks, but like the gentleman said that was with you everyone wants you. They want to pay you. well I am not that generous I know things and would be helpful to you as I live around corner and retired early 56. I would not offer any of my services for free because I am worth more than that and there are not too many guys who do this, and I plan on carrying on this long past you. I have been there a couple of times since, door locked and encountered a customer or two who were in need and I helped them. Heck I even sold two machines I brought back to life just driving or walking my dog past your place, Just to let you know I am very handy useful and knowledgeable. I am very diligent and stubborn, trust me there are ways to learn this stuff, even if I have to tear down another ten or one hundred, also if any questions or parts I have a guy in states is very appreciative of me wanting to carry on this grand tradition before it dies. It is sad when I called Staples about getting ribbons the girl mentioned you, it was kind of disheartening, she said "no around that I know I have heard of a guy around upper James but I dont think that is there anymore." Seems with another direction some help could post all typewriters on the internet stay open clean up a bit organize and stay open at least half a day consistently, typewriters cannot type on a shelf. Fine with me though I guess I am the second most knowledgeable typewriter guy in this vicinity. And I don't advertise, plenty busy word of mouth and selling on line. I have also been on the radio in past and have on camera ability and am doing my own little Hamilton Typewriter short movie., If you ever want to change your mind and have some help in the circus let me know. As for me, I am going to teach as many people who are interested in these glorious machines as I can. Seems a waste to keep doors closed for most of time, sad to see knowledge disappear. I am sure I will see you again soon but I am getting busy, people still need help with or without you. All the Best Paul
